CGC held it’s Smash Brothers Project M event. Project M is a fan mod of Smash Brothers Brawl in an attempt to create a fan sequel to Smash Brothers Melee. We gave it a whirl. We have Singles and Doubles brackets.
We had a mix of regular Melee players and regular Brawl players come to the event. The event was seeded by location and not skill because there are no preexisting tournament results for the mod. Player ‘Lucien’ is an experienced Melee player from the bay area. He was a favorite for who people believed would win the event. Player ‘Metroid’ is a respected player from another state who was able to come to the event. Interestingly enough both player’s faced each other relatively early in the bracket due to the location seeding. Local Brawl Players AD and Remix proved to be strong in project M with their great performance in the bracket. Be sure to check out the feature matches involving these players as well.
Our venue offered all you can eat pizza for $15 which also turned out to be a hit. We’re looking forward to working with the venue again in the future to provide more recorded material and food opinions! If you have any feedback or suggestions, please comment below.
